Post Secondary Education Coordinator

Summary 

Wagmatcook Board of Education requires a full-time PSE Coordinator to assist Wagmatcook high  school and post-secondary students with program applications, registration, on-line/e-learning  programming and general assistance for university and college students.  

Job Duties 

The PSE Coordinator will work with the Manager of Education Services to: 

  • Aid students research and apply for colleges and universities and residence.
  • Aid students with adding and dropping courses and arranging tutors 
  • Collect marks, applications, and acceptance letters according to the policy
  • Prepare payment requisitions for students, colleges, and universities according to the policy.
  • Collect and maintain the student information in Outcomes (SIS). 
  • Support Colleges and Universities when they are offering in-community programs.
  •  Other duties as required. 

Requirements and Qualifications 

The successful candidate must have an bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary  institution, have an interest or experience working with students pursuing post-secondary education  opportunities, the ability to speak Mi’kmaq is considered an asset, willing to provide students support  with program requirements and transitions to e-learning, and willing to work as part of a team.  

The ideal candidate should have good writing skills and the ability to prepare letters or  correspondence with various stakeholders. 

Applicants will be required to complete a criminal record check and child abuse registry check. A  Nova Scotia driver’s license will be an asset as some travel may be required.
