Job Overview:
Cleanwave Restaurant is looking for a seasonal dishwasher. Applicants must be available to work Sunday through Saturday during the peak season (May – October). The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and restocking the dishes, utensils, and other kitchen items used in the food preparation process, as well as assisting in food preparation and other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager. The Dishwasher will be expected to maintain a clean, well-stocked, and safe workstation that optimizes the execution of food preparation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Dishwasher responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Upholding restaurant quality standards.
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment by properly washing and sorting soiled dishes and cleaning and drying floors throughout the shift.
- Maintaining the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
- Following health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- One (1) to two (2) years of previous experience, preferred.
- Experience in safety procedures and standards.
- Food Handler Certification, an asset.
- WHMIS, an asset.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Accuracy and speed in executing multiple tasks.
- Commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with Nova Scotia’s Food Safety Regulations, an asset.
- Ability to work within a cohesive team environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts.
- Must be available for day shifts.
- Must be available for weekend shifts.
Work Conditions:
- Location & Hours: onsite, must be available to work seven (7) days per week, shift work.
- Physical: lifting up to 50lbs., standing, crouching, lifting, repetitive motions.
- Environmental: indoors, exposure to noise, hot surfaces and equipment, cleaning chemicals.
