Behavioural Interventionist

The incumbent is responsible for assisting school teams by providing specialized advice and skills in the development, implementation and assessment of non-aversive behaviour programming for individuals or groups of students. The Behaviour Interventionist will contribute to the assessment of students with behaviour challenges, support the school special needs team with interpreting and reporting assessments and coordinating individual learning plans with classroom teachers.

Qualifications:

  1. A valid Nova Scotia Teachers licence or a valid Nova Scotia Specialist Certificate
  2. Board Certified Behaviour Interventionist.
  3. Three years successful practice.
  4. Experience in a First Nation school is considered an asset
  5. Ability to work as part of a special needs team.
  6. Good communication skills.

 

Tenure: Full time permanent position
