Job Overview:

The Cannabis Store Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cannabis Store. This position ensures that the Cannabis Store is a welcoming, safe, and clean space for customers, employees, and service providers. The Manager will be responsible for excellence in customer service, sales, building an effective team through motivation, training and mentoring, budget management and ensuring compliance to the laws and regulations governing cannabis sales.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Cannabis Store is maintained, and security is present to safeguard customers and employees.
  • Ensure legal requirement compliance is maintained.
  • Achieve financial objectives by working as a team player to obtain high returns on customer satisfaction, products sold and through cost effective expenditures or reducing overhead expenses, as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors of the Cannabis Store.
  • Resolve customer complaints by making recommendations or developing solutions.
  • Determine closures due to unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather, staffing issues or equipment failure, as outlined in the policy. Advise the CEO of the decision.
  • Confirm that fire regulations and other policies are current and posted in appropriate areas as defined.
  • Ensure all applicable licenses and permits are maintained for the Cannabis Store operations.
  • Identify candidates for hire and prepare the orientation and onboarding process.
  • Organize training and development opportunities, such as Health & Safety courses, for all employees of the Cannabis Store.
  • Create and maintain schedules for the Cannabis Store, monitoring attendance through sign in sheets.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide constructive and timely feedback.
  • Communicate with employees on a regular basis about Cannabis Store updates, encouraging teamwork and delegating accordingly.
  • Respond to employee inquiries, provide feedback and/or problem resolutions.
  • Monitor and record employee vacations and personal days to ensure the Cannabis Store continues to provide services without interruption.
  • Submit payroll for employees of the Cannabis Store.
  • Balance daily cash sheets, prepare banks deposits, submit data to balance sheet for the Finance department.
  • Complete all required deposits.
  • Submit requests for services necessary for the Cannabis Store.
  • Order employee uniforms, as required.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality, through proper handling of information and secure filing of documents.
  • Adhere to all Wagmatcook First Nation policies.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety policies.
    • Report any incidents or near misses to the CEO.
    • Participate in training and safety programs.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business, operations management, or related field.
  • Previous experience in management and/or leadership or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of retail experience, preferred.
  • Previous experience in building effective teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt and effectively manage time.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
