Location:         Wagmatcook First Nation [WFN]

Department:   Culture & Heritage Centre [the “Centre”]

Reports to:      Manager of Operations, Culture & Heritage Centre [the “Manager of Operations”]

Position Type: Part-time

 

Job Overview:

The Gaming Clerk will be responsible for greeting customers, maintaining machines and the gaming area, ensuring adherence to responsible gaming practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve customers and guests in a positive and courteous manner.
  • Ensure prompt, professional service is extended to guests.
  • Create a positive and welcoming environment.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and complaints.
  • Cooperate with Centre management and security in the event of non-adherence to safe gaming practices.
  • Ensure worksite is clean and safe for guests and employees, including machines.
  • Reconcile daily cash, including floats and deposits.
  • Empty machines and reconcile machines with cash.
  • Advise Centre management when maintenance is required for equipment or machines.
  • Communicate with gaming repair technicians, if required.
  • Participate in professional development, training and safety programs.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality, through proper handling of information.
  • Adhere to all Wagmatcook First Nation policies.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety policies.
  • Report any incidents or near misses to the Manager of Operations.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and in team-oriented settings.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Understanding of safe gaming practices.
  • Must have a positive attitude and enjoy being active.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Must be available for shift work, including days, evenings, weekdays and weekends.

Work Environment:

  • Indoor, controlled environment.
  • Exposure to noise and lights from gaming machines.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
  • Working hours will vary depending on operational needs.

 

Manager of Operations Support:

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Gaming Clerk may be assigned other duties within the scope of their role by the Manager of Operations or designate.
